Hey look at us bringing up something topical! Woooo!
Like almost everyone this past long Thanksgiving holiday weekend, we fired up Netflix (Free 30 day trial!) and sat down to watch Martin Scorsese’s star-studded and somewhat lengthy “The Irishman.”
There are a TON of spoilers in this particular episode, so please keep that in mind if you have not yet seen the movie but plan to.
Truth be told we both enjoyed the movie and there are some caveats attached to that which we discuss in the show.
We also talk about Slate’s Bill Tonelli who wrote a fairly smarmy and shitty article about this movie and the book it is based on [I Heard You Paint Houses by Charles Brandt]. The link to that article is here:
The Lies of the Irishman by Bill Tonelli
The publisher of the book contacted Slate with a response to Tonelli’s article and that can be found here:

A few years back, Fox News’ Eric Shawn went to the house that Sheeran claimed was the location of Hoffa’s murder and did in fact find blood splatter under the floor boards right where Sheeran claimed they’d be. Sadly the blood was not very DNA test worthy. Below is the video from Shawn’s report.
Seeing this movie definitely made me want to read the book.
After we are done talking about The Irishman I briefly mention what has simply become known as “The Betrayal.” The source of that can be found here:
